At Slalom, students do not just hear about artificial intelligence. They experience how consultants use it to solve real problems for some of the world’s biggest companies. This SHSM event puts students in the role of innovators, challenging them to think like technology advisors and apply AI in ways that are practical, ethical, and meaningful.
Students work side by side with Slalom consultants during the AI for Good challenge, where they are mentored to design practical AI solutions that address real business and social problems.
The experience culminates in a “Shark Tank”-style pitch, giving students the chance to present their ideas to industry experts and receive feedback on innovation, feasibility, and ethics.
Throughout the day, students gain exposure to Slalom’s workplace culture through an office tour and interactive activities that highlight AI myths, realities, and career pathways.

As a facilitator, Bernie translates complex technical concepts into practical insights, helping teams apply design principles to drive impactful solutions that align with both user needs and organizational goals.
